The City Pages:Â Minneapolis dishes out $70K to Critical Mass biker

The City of Minneapolis agreed this week to cough up $70,000 to Minneapolis biker Gus Ganley after an amateur video shed light on an Aug. 31, 2007 Critical Mass rally in downtown Minneapolis that resulted in police using mace and Tasers.
Ganley was initially arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, obstruction of the legal process and fleeing, but those charges were later dropped when the video (seen here) shows a cop throwing Ganley against multiple police cars.
This settlement adds to more than $14 million the city has paid out in police conduct cases since 1992, WCCO-TV reported, citing the city attorney’s office.
Ganley’s attorney Jordan Kushner told WCCO:
Let’s hope Ganley uses some of that money to treat himself to a new bike before the next rally.
