The 16-year-old boy who ran over and killed a well-known Boise cyclist on Hill Road will be charged with vehicular manslaughter in Ada County juvenile court Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Michael Anderson said in a Friday afternoon press release.
The boy’s name has not been released since the June 11 accident, and his court proceedings will be closed to the public unless a judge decides to open them up.
The crash killed Kevin Pavlis, who worked at a local bike shop and road with several riding groups. He was on a group ride when the two collided.
If convicted, the maximum penalty the boy could face would be up to three years of probation, 90 days in juvenile detention, the suspension of his driver’s license, community service and restitution, Anderson said.
