Roseville — A Clinton Township woman has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that has left a 19-year-old Clinton Township man in critical condition with multiple life-threatening injuries, officials said today.
Police say the man was heading north on Gratiot Avenue near the Interstate 94 entrance ramp on a bicycle Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle driven by the 52-year-old suspect at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The driver fled the scene, heading west on I-94, according to authorities.
Witnesses were able to give police a description of the woman’s vehicle, and officers with the Harper Woods Police Department spotted it near I-94 and Eight Mile about 10 minutes after the accident. She is currently being held in the Roseville jail awaiting arraignment on charges of leaving the scene of an accident.
Roseville Deputy Police Chief James Berlin said additional charges against the woman may be forthcoming, and investigators are working to determine whether she had narcotics in her system at the time of the crash.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Roseville Police at (586) 775-2100.
