The Visayan Daily Star: Driver may face raps for death of cyclist

Reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple physical injuries and damage to properties may be filed against the driver whose passenger jeepney hit and injured four cyclists at Murcia-Bacolod road, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod , and one of whom died, Wednesday.
Traffic investigator Police Officer 2 Eliseo Adraneda said Paulo Ma-apni died at about 8 p.m. at the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod after four days of confinement.
Ma-apni, 22, of Las Palmas Subdivision, Bacolod, with Joedito Gasendo, 43, Joefran Gasendo, 34, both also of Las Palmas, and John Philip Gabanzos, 24, of Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City , Negros Occidental were injured when the jeepney driven by Nelson Llamera, 55, of Zone 4, Murcia town hit them.
Adraneda said that Llamera was already released from jail after the reglementary period lapsed.
Crispin Chua, the uncle of Maapni said Paulo’s remains are now at the Alisbo Memorial chapels at Lacson Street , Bacolod and will be laid to rest Sunday.
Chua said that his nephew, son of former Amity Assistant Fire Chief Danny Ma-apni, has been in comatose and was on a respirator since Sunday due to head injuries.
He said they will file charges against Llamera to give justice to his nephew.*APN
